Can Eve Taylor essential oils and diffuser blends be used around animals?
There is much debate with regards to the use of essential oils and our animal friends, which has centred around various, unreferenced internet blogs and websites which have been based on anecdotes opinions.
Some essential oils have the potential to be harmful to animals if overly diffused, ingested or applied topically to the skin, the way those same essential oils could be harmful to humans if over used, and so taking an objective view of how we use essential oils covers both humans and animals alike.
When diffusing essential oils or diffuser blends use our Aroma Diffuser Pod is ideal. We recommend that just 3-4 drops are dispensed into 100ml of water and diffused into the room. This will create a few parts per million of aromatic vapour in the air and unlikely to cause any negative impact to pets.
If you wish to ensure optimum wellbeing for your pet, make sure you allow adequate ventilation and leave doors open so that the animal may leave the room if they wish. This will avoid any potential build-up of vapours over many hours in a confined space.
Also, be mindful of the blend you are using.
A soothing blend like Relax Diffuser Blend or Serenity Diffuser Blend would assist with keeping the animal calm; however, a stimulating blend such as Recharge Diffuser Blend wouldn’t be appropriate if there was an animal in the room due to its invigorating, stimulating actions.
